[Review Tour] Giveaway: The Girl I Was Before (Falling #3) by Ginger Scott

THE GIRL I WAS BEFORE by Ginger Scott is finally here! Check out the review and giveaway below!

THE GIRL I WAS BEFORE (Falling #3)
 NA Contemporary Romance
Scheduled to release: June 23, 2015

BLURB:
I’m the selfish one. I suppose that’s the nicest thing people say about me. I’ve heard the other things, too. “Paige Owens is a pretty girl with nothing else to offer. She’s just a good time at a party. She’s stupid, heartless, cold and useless. All she cares about is getting a guy to look at her. Why would anyone want to be her friend?”

Some of those things are true. Others were true. They’re all hurtful.

None of it matters.

I’m ready to make the hard choices. I’m ready to face the consequences. I’m ready to be the girl I was before, and I’m done being the one who lost her way.

I’m ready to become the girl Houston Orr sees when he looks at me.

Houston isn’t a star athlete. He doesn’t play in a band. He’s never going to be president, and his life is so far away from simple and easy it isn’t even funny. He wasn’t part of my plan. But I’m starting to think plans are overrated, and maybe our stories are what we make them. And mine depends entirely on me, and the choices I make…starting now.

Houston is my fairytale. He’s perfectly imperfect. He’s poetry and life. He’s truth and heartbreak, all rolled up in a tall body with dark hair, broad shoulders and green eyes that lull me into submission. He’s nothing I ever thought I wanted, but the very thing I need. He’s the only guy I’ve ever really loved, and he thinks I’m a princess. I fell into him, and now I’m holding on.

But sometimes life takes away our ability to choose. Sometimes…things aren’t in your control. Sometimes, it hurts to be selfless. My only hope is that when it comes time to choose, I get it right.

Welcome to my once upon a time and wish for happily ever after.

~ REVIEW ~
5 STARS

At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to read Paige's story. I mean, how can she be redeemed in my eyes for the not so good things she made especially in Cass' story.

But, I decided to just give this a try and I admit although it took me time to warm up to her I in fact enjoyed her. It was also another emotional read for me. Paige's journey wasn't a quick one, it took time her for her to be a better person which I think was better although she had some difficulties in the way including Houston too.

Speaking of Houston, I was wondering what type of guy would be her match and all I can say that Houston was perfect for her. They may have their ups and downs but they were perfect for each other. Houston loves her and most especially he sees through her. Although what is important he loves her with her flaws and all.

I never expected to like Paige, usually I have a difficulty liking characters like her but there are times when the author does write the story well that you couldn't but help and like them. In a way, she reminds of another character from another author. But I think that other character was worst.

I currently live in England. My days are spent in the Project Management field while my nights are spent with books. I'm either reading them or writing the ones that I want to read. ~REVIEW~
4 STARS

Another fun enjoyable read just like the first two books of this series.

Although the synopsis was more about Daisy and Trevin's relationship, there's more to it than that.

I really felt for Daisy when I read her circumstances when Trevin stood her up in prom and in a roundabout way, her father is currently the body guard to Seconds to Juliet, which is Trevin's band. An opportunity comes up for her to plot her revenge against Trevin, at the same time because of how Daisy treated Trevin, it was what captured his attention at the beginning.

In truth, Trevin is a sweet guy and I like how he misses his family. I liked how he does sweet things for Daisy. The only problem was that he was naive.

I liked Daisy but her interaction towards Trevin was kind of frustrating. Some of her antics may be funny but her being and hot and cold almost all the time was a bit nerve wrecking for me.

Besides, Trevin and Daisy's relationship it also concerned the family situation of Daisy. I was a bit shocked with the revelation and I kind of hated her mother. The way her mother made a mess of things with their family especially with Daisy's relationship with her father. Although what I do like was that they were trying for the better.

I also liked reading about the other band members and some just never changed.

The person I probably hated more than was their manager. He was also the source of my frustration from the last two books.

All in all, this was a quick, fan, sweet, and cute, with a bit of a devious (in a good way) theme to it.

About the Author
Rebekah Purdy grew up in Michigan, where she spent many late nights armed with a good book and a flashlight. When not hiding at her computer and getting lost in her stories, she enjoys reading, singing, soccer, swimming, football, camping, playing video games and hanging out with her kids. She loves the unexplainable like Bigfoot, the Dogman, and the Loch Ness Monster (lots of good story material)! She admits to still having all the books she bought throughout her childhood and teen years, and she may or may not have an obsession with anything chocolate…
