I let out a sigh and turned to ask Dash about this afternoon when I found my lips pressed against his. His warm palm cupped my cheek tenderly and I felt myself melting. I distantly heard the retort and protest in my mind but I shooed them away giving in to the passion. I admitted to myself I wanted the taste of his lips on mine, drowning in ecstasy. I bit back the whimper that wanted to escape when he pulled back slightly, catching his breath.

“You don’t play fair,” I breathed.

“No, I don’t. Not when it comes to something I want. Not when it comes to you.” He stared into my eyes and I wanted to cling to him and never let go…

...I could do nothing but play along with the charade while I looked at him and silently asked how far do I have to go to get to you? Hoping I wasn’t making a permanent pronouncement on temporary emotion I knew patience was what I needed but right now it felt like the enemy. A part of me was drawn to him but a part of me resisted. And the resistance was what continued to push me through. I wanted to grab his face and scream at him – why? Slowly I could feel my shattered soul wandering back to me. It was testing its old stomping grounds and satisfied, fell into its original spot. Review of If Only We by Jessica Sankiewicz

They say all it takes is one wrong move and you lose the game. One false step and you’re trapped. One slip-up in your choice of words and you ruin a friendship forever. That is what they say. They say I lost.

I do not believe them.

At the end of the summer after graduation, Adrienne wonders what happened to cause her life to be in ruins. She isn’t getting along with her mom, her stepsister isn’t talking to her, and, to top it off, the boy she’s been in love with doesn’t want anything to do with her. She believes the turning point was a choice she made at graduation. When she wakes up the next day, she has been transported back three months to that moment, the one where everything started to fall apart.

Adrienne realizes she has been given a second chance—and this time she doesn’t want to mess anything up. Reliving the entire summer, though, turns out to be a lot harder than she thought. As the same days and weeks go by, she starts to see how simple decisions can make a huge impact on the world around her. Despite knowing some of what lies ahead, there are some things she didn’t anticipate. She thought she knew what mistake led her to where she ended up the first time. She was wrong.

MY REVIEW

4 STARS

If Only We teaches us a lesson to when given a second chance we must to our best to choose a better outcome/ right path. It also teaches us that pride will be our downfall (although a lot of stories have this concept).

After Adrienne confessed to her best friend Chevy, she runaway after she thought he "rejected" her. After near the end of summer, she finally returned home and realized that she damaged her relationship with her family and Chevy. Realizing her mistake, she dreamed of having a second chance and the next day she finds out that she is reliving the beginning of her graduation where it all started. As she relives her second chance with Chevy and her family, she is also on a journey about discovering what she really wants in her life.

I must confessed that I didn't really liked Adrienne in the beginning especially when she realized that the decision she made was her biggest mistake. But when she was given a second chance to relive the beginning of her graduation where it all started, she became mature except probably for some situations. Although she did her best to make things right she realized that all can't be changed even if the situations became different. In the end she realized that we create our own fate.

It's both realistic and unbelievable in ways but it's fiction. It can be anything.

Although, when I finished reading it, I wanted to read more.

Review of Peacemaker (Peacemaker Series #1) by Eva Gerald

MY REVIEW

Maya Voland is forced to move to Shine after the tragic death of her father. As she came to Shine she unexpectedly becomes popular to most of the people of Shine. As she learns to accept her current situation she learns more about the truths that were hidden from her and that Shine is a place were people with special abilities live. Later on, she discovers her abilities with the help of Shea and learns about the "Peacemaker". She is important to Shine and she has a mission and danger lurks around them.

I find peacemaker quite refreshing. The concept of Shine, it's people, and their abilities are interesting. I find reading it in fast pace and it becomes more interesting as you read it. The budding romance of Maya and Shea builds pent up sexual frustration but it feels very real and they both connect despite always having arguments.

Maya has a strong character which I like but for me she is too headstrong and stubborn that I mostly find it annoying throughout the whole story. I hated Shea at first because their first meeting wasn't really good but then he knows when to apologize to Maya and I find it hilarious when Maya wraps him around her little finger. Tristan is a good friend for Maya as well but he too gives in to Maya's wants. Maya, once she decided on something there is no changing her mind and there was one part that I feel she deserved how she felt because it was her ignorance and plain stubbornness to push things through without thinking how it will affect her and to those people who cares for her.

I just want to mention I really hate Fallon despite what people kept saying about her.

Although Ben and Ryan are a big surprise to the story which I wasn't expecting and I can't wait for Book 2.

The club stops spinning for a moment. Jace’s mouth is soft, much softer than I’d have thought given the roughness of his jaw under my fingertips. He doesn’t move for a heartbeat, and it’s like we exist in a quiet bubble outside of this dance floor, outside of time.

But he pulls away from me. “What’s gotten into you?” He breathes, our mouths only inches apart. “I thought—”

I kiss him again. I need to forget about those emails, forget about my parents, forget about Hunter and Kelsey.
