How to Seduce a Band Geek (How To #2)
by Cassie Mae
Release Date: 05/06/14
Swoon Romance
Summary from Goodreads:
Sierra
Livingston’s got it bad for her sister’s best friend, Levi Mason—the
boy who carries his drumsticks in his pocket, marches with the school’s
band, and taps his feet to whatever beat runs through his head. Sierra
racks her brain for ways to impress the sexy drummer, but the short
skirts and bursting cleavage don’t seem to cut it.
When
Sierra gets paired with Levi’s sister, Brea, for a mentorship program,
they strike a deal. In exchange for Sierra keeping her mouth shut about
Brea ditching the program, Brea lets Sierra dig for more info on Levi to
help get the guy of her dreams.
But
when Sierra discovers Levi no longer plays the drums, his family has
moved into a trailer, and he’s traded in his Range Rover for a baby blue
moped, Sierra’s not sure if she can go through with violating his
privacy. She’ll have to find the courage to ask him straight out—if he’s
willing to let her in—and explore other ways to seduce the school’s
band geek.
MY REVIEW
5 STARS
I can say that I really enjoyed reading Sierra and Levi's story. It was a page turner for me and I couldn't stop reading it till the end.
It's been almost about two years since the first story and now I understood better why Sierra was in a car crashed. I wouldn't even blame her why she did it. Truth be told, I didn't really liked her that much in the first book after reading her story I really felt for her. She's been crushing for Levi ever since but at the same time she doesn't know a thing about him literally except that he's best friends with her sister, plays the drum, and is part of a band. Now, the opportunity arises for her to get to him know better in which she took a part of a mentoring project and incidentally her mentee is Levi's younger sister. They had a deal which helped Sierra understood Levi more and from there, their relationship started to grow as they hang out more.
I just adore Levi and even from book 1 I liked him back then. I can understand his hardship in wanting to help for caring his family and sacrificing things in order to help. I had the same feelings as Sierra when I learned of his circumstances. Although despite his feelings for Sierra growing he couldn't make their relationship to mean something because of his circumstances. I can only say that I'm glad things turned out to be great for them. The ending was really sweet and I just had to reread it.
Apart from the main characters I was so happy to have a glimpse of Zoe and Zak. I'm even happier when I learned about their future. I just gotta say that this Cassie Mae has done a great job with these pairings.
Most of all I'm looking forward to reading Adam and Brea's story. I totally never expected them being together. I must say though that I was disappointed on how Sydney turned up to be.
One of the things I liked about this book was the comedy parts. My favorite part would be <spoiler> when Sierra overslept in Levi's house and had to go under his bed for fear of him finding her there</spoiler>. That was totally hilarious.
