WRITTEN IN THE SAND by T.A. Foster and Mary Kathryn Craft

October
 2014

Two love affairs. One hot summer.
BOOK BLURB:
Blair is determined to stay on course. Her reporting career is waiting for her if she can just make it through summer on the island.
Justyn knows not to get attached to tourist girls breezing through town for only a season.
Maggie wants to cherish her last few months of summer freedom. So what if she has to keep a tiny secret to make sure everyone around her stays happy?
Reid doesn’t have time for romance. His new business must succeed, no matter the cost.
This summer everything is about to change. All those carefully laid plans might shift faster than the tides. When these four start spending time together, the island nights get hotter than the sun-drenched days. Trying to stay untangled and unattached is easier said than done when the one thing you want is standing right in front of you.
REVIEW
4 STARS
Written in the Sand is one of those books wherein it tells the story of not one couple but two. In this instance, it tells the love story between two best friends and two cousins. It also tells the point of view of these four characters. I also loved the setting of the story.

At the beginning I thought the pacing was slow but it gets better along the way. I thought I would enjoy Maggie and Reid's story more because I was irritated with Blaire's whining but then when Blaire and Justyn's story progressed I enjoyed her story more.

Despite the sweet romance of these characters I felt it kind of lacking. It's like reading the characters' pov but I couldn't connect to them. Though it doesn't mean I did not enjoy reading it.

I really loved Blaire near the ending. The things she did in order to be with Justyn just blown me away. Blaire is also a good influence to Justyn. He finally realized what he felt for her and also what he thought were the feelings of the girls he used to have a fling with. In that moment I wanted Justyn to run after her but at the same what Blaire did is a okay.

Maggie and Reid's relationship was not that interesting compared to Blaire and Justyn's but they were meant for one another. There was some trouble in Maggie and Reid's relationship. Luckily, Reid got his head out of his a*ss, thanks to Blaire's help.

Then of course, their comes their HEA.

Mary-Kathryn Craft spent her childhood summers vacationing on Harkers Island, North Carolina. There she fell in love with the Cape Lookout beaches and learned about the power of a good story from the island old-timers.

Written in the Sand is more than fifteen years in the making. Tucked away in boxes and buried deep on hard drives, pieces of Maggie and Blair’s story sat untouched for years before the authors rediscovered the work in progress. They knew it was time to revisit the island and give Maggie, Blair, Justyn, and Reid a summer to remember.
