[Spoiler Alert]
I kind of want to hit my head since for some reason I did not notice that this book is part of a series and I just realized it when I added it to my TRB. For some reason, I've been reading a lot of cliffhangers lately.
Amelia's life is surrounded with many secrets and she feels left out with her family despite having a good relationship with her brother, Cole. In college, she takes over her life despite having problems with her magic and it seems to be escalating beyond her control, not too mention she is duty bound to marry the prince, the son of the Queen of Immortals. And then she meets Aidan, someone who makes her heart race unlike no other. Bethany, her best friend who makes it a living to add some spice into Amelia's life. And there's Micah, the guy who captivates Bethany.
Although I understood Amelia's feelings, I hate how she acts before she thinks. It really gets her into trouble but I know she's a teenage, and they do something that gets them into trouble but in her case it's a little bit too much especially near the ending. I really felt for Aidan at the end because of her folly. I really hope this part of her improves although her character has been developing really well throughout the whole book except just that.
I knew there was something about Micah but I never expected that. I wish Micah has a backbone to standup against her mother. Queen Julie is just too much. She's that typical villain who wants to rule all and makes other people do her bidding. And she scares the heck out of a lot other immortals. I'm looking forward to her demise. And Micah if you love Bethany choose her. The same goes for Amelia. Duty be d*mned.
Aidan please don't stop pursuing Amelia. She isn't really thinking well, with all the pressures being force on her.
Bound by Duty hooked me right in. It's the kind of book where you have to read it till the end in one sitting and that's when you find out that the ending just leaves you hanging. Seriously, way to end it. I really want to know what happens next because there are still a lot of secrets that need to be known. And please let these couples have their HEA. They deserve it after all what they're going through and for what future awaits them.
About the Author
I
was born in Southeast Iowa, in a tiny town without much to do. I came to
love reading honestly, with a Mom that had an entire room devoted to
books. We read together until I could read alone, and then we often
shared books. We talked stories and favorite characters, even shared
tears over the best ones. I made friends who also loved books and we
grew up with the likes of V.C. Andrews, L.J. Smith and Anne Rice.
I live in central Iowa now, and went into marketing because I could use my love of words and head for branding. I married a guy who hates fiction and loves video games, but we compromise with great movies (often my book adaptations) and live music. We have two crazy cats that constantly walk across my key board or curl into my lap for naps while I write.
I love chocolate peanut butter and mint chocolate chip ice cream and Sauvignon Blanc wine, though not at the same time. I always have music of some sort on and someday I'll convince my husband to move to the ocean. Someday.
